Shopify App Installation and Configuration Instructions 

This guide is for existing AgeChecked clients who are moving from our current Shopify integration to the new AgeChecked Shopify App.

We’ve introduced this updated app to align with Shopify’s 2025 changes to the extensible checkout process, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and future-proof integration for your store.

Follow the steps below to install and configure the new app so you can continue verifying your customers’ ages seamlessly.

Install the Shopify App

  1. Go to the app installation URL provided by AgeChecked.

  2. Click Install app.
  3. Approve the permissions and wait for the app to complete installation.
  4. You’ll be redirected to AgeChecked for Ecommerce upon successful installation.

 

Add AgeChecked Embed Element to the Thank You Page

  1. Go to Settings > Checkout in your Shopify admin.
  2. Next to your store configurations, click Customize.
  3. In the configuration editor:
    • In the header use the centre dropdown menu to select the Post Purchase –   Thank You page.
    • Select App embeds from the left-hand side (bottom of the panel).
    • Look for the AgeChecked embedable block
    • Drag it to the area where you want it to appear – we recommend the top of this page.
  4. Click Save.

 

Enable AgeChecked Theme Script Block to Inject JavaScript

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin.
  2. Next to your current theme, click Customize.
  3. In the theme editor:
    • Select App embeds from the left-hand side (bottom of the panel).
    • Look for the AgeChecked embedable script block.
    • Toggle it ON to enable the JavaScript snippet.
  4. Click Save.
